Senior Accountant

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Project Accountant to join our team. This role will provide essential support to both the administrative and accounting departments, ensuring smooth operations and accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities include processing invoices, assisting with payroll, maintaining financial records, and providing general office support. Candidates should have a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with accounting software QuickBooks. Excellent communication, organizational skills and experience with homebuilding are also required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support
    • Answering phones, handling emails, and scheduling appointments. 
    • Maintaining and updating databases and files. 
    • Preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence. 
    • Ordering office supplies and coordinating travel arrangements. 
    • Assisting with project management tasks.
  • Accounting Support:
    • Processing invoices, payments, and expense reports. 
    • Assisting with payroll processing and tax reporting. 
    • Reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts. 
    • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit requirements. 
    • Preparing financial statements and reports for management.
  • Specific to Home Builders:
    • Assisting with lien waivers, change orders, and other construction-related paperwork. 
    • Tracking project budgets and expenses. 
    • Communicating with subcontractors, vendors, and municipalities. 
    • Supporting sales and marketing efforts by preparing and distributing materials.

Qualifications:

  • Required to have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • With a minimum of 10 years of accounting experience.
  • Proven experience in an administrative home building role.
  • Must have proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
